AmeriCorps NCCC and the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program

Collaboration Structure

There is no formal framework to the collaboration. ChalleNGe graduates have to apply to be accepted into the NCCC like all other applicants, though NCCC reserves a certain number of slots within each incoming class for qualified ChalleNGe members.

Communication and Sustainability:  NCCC’s national office communicates regularly via email, conference calls and webinars with ChalleNGe Program national and center leadership. NCCC conducts presentations at ChalleNGe conferences. Likewise, NCCC national and regional staff, as well as current members conducts regular outreach to ChalleNGe centers.  ChalleNGe staff provide NCCC’s national office with the names of referred candidates.  In turn, NCCC provides regular status updates of each candidate throughout the application process and of each member throughout their term of service.
