NIJ FY24 Evaluation of BJA Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP): Scan of Practices and Evaluability Assessments (Funding Opportunity)

This solicitation seeks proposals to examine programs funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (SCIP) in Fiscal Years (FY) 2022–2024. The BJA Byrne SCIP program provides funding for the implementation and/or creation of specific program areas: (1) extreme risk protection order (ERPO) programs, (2) courts response to people in crisis, (3) community-based services for people in crisis, and (4) funding for law enforcement crisis intervention programs or initiatives. This NIJ solicitation seeks research addressing two categories: (1) scan of practices of state crisis intervention activities including those funded by BJA under the FY 2022–2023 and FY 2024 BJA Byrne SCIP (anticipate one award of up to $600,000); and (2) evaluability assessments for each of the four program areas funded by BJA under the FY2022–2023 and FY2024 BJA Byrne SCIP solicitations.
