A Parent's Guide to Internet Safety
The U.S. Department of Justice's Federal Bureau of Investigation has created a pamphlet, which is designed to help parents, teachers, and providers begin to understand the complexities of on-line child exploitation.
Attorney General Holder Announces Facebook, Bing AMBER Alert Tools
In a new video, Attorney General Eric Holder announced the integration of multiple online tools to expand the reach of the AMBER Alert early warning system of urgent child abduction cases. Facebook will be used to send targeted AMBER alerts to users in certain search areas and Bing will allow users access alerts through the its online broadcast tools.

As featured on the OJJDP website, the Discipline Disparities Research-to-Practice Collaborative has released a Discipline Disparities Briefing Paper Series, which consists of three briefing papers on policy, practice, and research related to disparities in school discipline.

Indicators of School Crime and Safety, 2013
This annual report provides current statistics on crime in schools. The report covers 22 indicators of school crime from several sources. Topics include victimization at school, teacher injury, bullying and cyberbullying, school conditions, fights, weapons, availability and student use of drugs and alcohol, and student perceptions of personal safety at school.
National Intertribal Youth Summit Video
View the video that includes the highlights from the week-long 2011 National Intertribal Youth Summit (NIYS), held last July in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This event was attended by more than 160 youth representing nearly 50 tribes.
Native American Traditional Justice Practices
“Expert Working Group Report: Native American Traditional Justice Practices” (PDF, 35 pages) summarizes discussions and recommendations from a meeting about federal efforts to support the use of traditional Native American justice interventions to respond to criminal and delinquent behavior. The meeting was held in April 2013 and included 14 experts from multidisciplinary communities.

School Violence: Echoes From the Digital Playgrounds
Developed by the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance, the purpose of this publication is to educate school administrators, school resource officers, and law enforcement personnel about the relationship between online communities, such as video games and virtual worlds, and violent behavior and to provide strategies that can be used to improve school safety.
School Climate and Discipline Guidance Package
The Departments of Education and Justice created a guidance package to help schools, districts, and states understand the issue of discriminatory school discipline and the role they play in improving school climate and administering student discipline without discriminating on the basis of race, color, or national origin.

The National Criminal Justice Reference Service created special feature on topics related to campus safety, which includes publications and resources about crime, safety, violence prevention, and substance abuse.
Spanish Language Resource: Abducted Children
The Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention has released a Spanish translation of a publication for youth who were abducted as children and are working towards recovery.

The site features the latest announcements, press releases, speeches and information regarding Department of Justice initiatives in tribal communities. It also provides comprehensive resources available through the Office of Tribal Justice and the Department's grant-making divisions: the Office of Justice Programs, Community Oriented Policing Services and the Office on Violence Against Women. Educators Gather at the White House to Rethink School Discipline
Teams of superintendents, principals, and teachers from across the country gathered on July 22, 2015, for "Rethink Discipline," a daylong conference at the White House on creating positive school climates and implementing effective discipline practices. As part of the conference, new resources and initiatives were announced to assist school leaders in their efforts to reduce suspensions and expulsions, and provide school environments that are safe, supportive, and conducive to teaching and learning.

It addresses the health care needs of these children and the gathering of forensic evidence for potential use within the criminal justice and/or child protection systems.
