A Comprehensive Public Health Approach to Asthma Control Through Evidence-Based Interventions

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announces availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 funds for CDC-RFA-EH19-1902, A Comprehensive Public Health Approach to Asthma Control through Evidence-Based Interventions. The purpose of the award is to improve the reach, quality, effectiveness, and sustainability of asthma control services and to reduce asthma morbidity, mortality and disparities by implementing evidence-based strategies across multiple sectors.

Family Violence Prevention and Services Discretionary Grants: Capacity Building and Program Technical Assistance for Family Violence Prevention and Services Act Formula Grantees

The Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) Discretionary Grant Program seeks one grantee to enhance and expand the capacity of FVPSA formula grantees – state FVPSA administrators and state/territory domestic violence coalitions. For this grant program, one grantee will be expected to provide 1) topic-specific training and technical assistance at a national level and 2) intensive training and technical assistance at the state or territory level.

Detecting and Preventing Suicide Behavior, Ideation and Self-Harm in Youth in Contact with the Juvenile Justice System (R01- Clinical Trial Required)

This initiative supports research to test the effectiveness of combined strategies to both detect and intervene to reduce the risk of suicide behavior, suicide ideation, and non-suicidal self-harm (NSSI) by youth in contact with the juvenile justice system.

Child Care Policy Research Partnership Grants

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) plans to solicit applications for Child Care Policy Research Partnership grants. These four-year cooperative agreements will be conducted through partnerships between CCDF Lead Agencies in states, territories, or tribes and researchers from institutions of higher education, research organizations, and other eligible organizations. Applications are invited from CCDF Lead Agencies, institutions of higher education, research organizations, and other organizations with proven expertise conducting policy research.

Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (U-RISE) (T34)

The goal of the Undergraduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (U-RISE) program is to develop a diverse pool of undergraduates who complete their baccalaureate degree, and transition into and complete biomedical, research-focused higher degree programs (e.g., Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D). This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) provides support to eligible, domestic institutions to develop and implement effective, evidence-based approaches to biomedical training and mentoring that will keep pace with the rapid evolution of the research enterprise.

Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) for Health Professional Schools and Graduate Schools (R15 Clinical Trial Required)

The purpose of the Research Enhancement Award Program (REAP) for Health Professional Schools and Graduates Schools of Arts and Sciences is to stimulate basic and clinical research in educational institutions that provide baccalaureate or advanced degrees for a significant number of the Nation's research scientists, but that have not been major recipients of NIH support.

UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE MCGOVERN-DOLE INTERNATIONAL FOOD FOR EDUCATION AND CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM

The McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program (McGovern-Dole) key objectives are to carry out:1) preschool and primary school food for education programs in foreign countries to improve food security, reduce the incidence of hunger, and improve literacy and primary education, particularly with respect to girls; and, 2) maternal, infant, and child nutrition programs for pregnant women, nursing mothers, infants, and children who are five years of age or younger.
