The Effects of Adolescent Development on Policing
Developed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, with support from OJJDP, The Effects of Adolescent Development on Policing can help law enforcement officers who interact with youth to better understand adolescent development and to use this knowledge to tailor their responses to youth in an age- and developmentally-appropriate manner. The goal of this approach is to increase cooperation from youth, promote better outcomes for young people, and foster positive relationships between police and youth.
