The CDC publishes the Diabetes Report Card every two years and includes the most recent information and data available about diabetes, gestational diabetes, pre-diabetes, preventive care practices, risk factors, quality of care, diabetes outcomes, and, to the extent possible, national and state trends. According to the Diabetes 2014 Report Card (PDF, 18 pages), more than 5,000 new cases of Type 2 diabetes are diagnosed among youth under the age of 20 each year.
