This brief (PDF, 20 pages) aims to help individuals working in public school systems and secure-care educational settings understand four specific conditions for learning that are beneficial for students in, or at risk of entering, neglected or delinquent settings:

- Engagement and challenge
The brief also provides strategies for fostering each condition and multiple related resources.
Report: Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange
This report provides information on international students studying at higher education institutions in the U.S. and students from the U.S. studying abroad. Developed by the Institute of International Education, the report shows the number of international students at colleges and universities in the U.S. increased by 7% to a record high of 1,043,839 in the 2015-16 academic year, while U.S. students studying abroad increased by 3% to 313,415 students in the 2014-15 academic year.

These regulations (PDF, 383 pages) will guide the development of the accountability, data reporting, and state plan provisions of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The regulations will focus on supporting states in using flexibility to provide a high-quality, well-rounded education and ensure equity remains at the core of implementation.
