Tribal Justice and Safety
The site features the latest announcements, press releases, speeches and information regarding Department of Justice initiatives in tribal communities. It also provides comprehensive resources available through the Office of Tribal Justice and the Department's grant-making divisions: the Office of Justice Programs, Community Oriented Policing Services and the Office on Violence Against Women. Reports: Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network
These reports estimate the number of children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities living in different areas of the United States. New data indicate that 1 in 68 school-aged children are on the autism spectrum, highlighting the importance of services and supports for these children now and as they grow into adolescence and adulthood.

This literature review (PDF, 10 pages) summarizes research on intellectual and developmental disabilities of youths who are at risk of or who have come into contact with the juvenile justice system. Professionals working in juvenile justice settings can use this resource to better understand the challenges facing young people. Policymakers can also use the review to inform federal policies that pertain to the treatment of youths with disabilities in the juvenile justice system.

Free Violence Prevention Course
Principles of Prevention is a free, online violence prevention training, available on the CDC’s VetoViolence website. This dynamic and interactive course teaches the key concepts of primary prevention, the public health approach, and the social-ecological model. It also features interviews with leading experts and compelling stories, helps professionals to understand the fundamentals of effective violence prevention, and helps them to become familiar with the growing body of research on what works.
