Webcast Archive: Make the Connection: How Positive Youth Development Offers Promise for Teen Health and Teen Pregnancy Prevention
The archive of this OAH webcast, which highlighted the role of positive youth development in the prevention of teen pregnancy and other risky behaviors, is now available for viewing. Two Video Series: Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs Matter
Two new video series address what works for teen pregnancy prevention (TPP) and the impact of TPP programs on the lives of adolescents. The first series provides a personal look at TPP programs in local communities. The initial video highlights Sé tú mismo (Be Yourself), a positive youth development program for Latino youth in Washington, D.C., and Montgomery County, Maryland, and includes the perspective of teens in the program. The second video series features OAH staff and partners answering frequently asked questions about TPP, including information on why U.S. organizations should focus on TPP and where the country is on this issue.

Reports: OAH Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program Evaluation Findings
These reports illustrate the findings of 41 rigorous evaluations conducted from 2010 to 2015 through the OAH Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) Program. The results from these evaluations can help local communities select and implement pregnancy prevention programs that are a good fit and likely to have the greatest impact.

Adolescent Development Explained
This web section explains the five domains of adolescent development and the changes that are a normal and necessary part of adolescence. It also describes different ways that adolescents experience these changes, how adults can respond in supportive ways, and how to seek professional help if needed.
Report: HHS's Response to the Recommendations of the Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities
This report to Congress responds to recommendations for HHS contained in the March 2016 final report of the Commission to Eliminate Child Abuse and Neglect Fatalities. It identifies areas in which the vision of HHS specifically overlaps with the Commission's recommendations and responds briefly to each of the individual recommendations that affect HHS.

This fact sheet describes eligibility for health care coverage, including through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), for youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This brief examines courts’ roles in overseeing psychotropic medication prescriptions for children who were the subjects of child maltreatment investigations. It also explores the relationship between oversight roles, rates of psychotropic medication use, and rates at which children were re-reported to child protection agencies.
Report: Patterns of Foster Care Placement and Family Reunification following Child Maltreatment Investigations
This brief identifies characteristics of children and families who reunified with parents or family following the child’s stay in foster care, patterns regarding success or failure of reunification, and maltreatment re-reports among children reunified with their families.
Report: Parental Incarceration and Children in Nonparental Care
This brief compares children in nonparental care as a result of parental incarceration with those who experienced parental incarceration but not as a reason for nonparental care, and those with no experience of parental incarceration.
Support for Child Victims and Witnesses of Human Trafficking
This set of graphic novels is now available to help young trafficking survivors, ages 2–18, navigate the justice system as a victim or witness. These resources help youth understand the justice system, their rights, and roles of different practitioners. Practitioner and Caregiver Guides and excerpts of support from individuals with lived experience are included.
National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS)
NVDRS collects data on violent deaths from a variety of sources, including death certificates, police reports, medical examiner and coroner reports, and crime laboratories.
Resource: HIV Prevention Toolkit: A Gender-Responsive Approach
This toolkit (PDF, 138 pages) can help HIV prevention program planners and managers understand how to integrate gender into HIV prevention programs and support services for women and adolescent girls. As described in this blog post, the toolkit includes background information on how gender influences HIV vulnerability of women and girls, basic concepts related to gender and gender-responsive HIV prevention programming, and gender analysis and how it can be applied.
