Supporting Successful Transition to Adulthood for Current and Former Youth in Foster Care Through Coordination With the John H. Chafee Foster Care Independence Program
This training and employment notice informs states and local areas about how youth programs can help youth who are or were in foster care to complete postsecondary education and training. Intended for youth programs that receive formula funding through the Workforce Investment Act, the training highlights how youth programs can coordinate with state and local independent living coordinators to ensure that youth have knowledge of and access to state tuition waivers and education and training vouchers from the John H. Chafee Foster Care Independence Program.

Violence by Gang Members, 1993-2003
This brief from the Bureau of Justice Statistics discusses national crime rates, violent assaults, and the percentage in which a gang or gang member was identified as the perpetrator. Rates of gang violence are given by gender, race, and age.
Tribal Justice and Safety

It also provides comprehensive resources available through the Office of Tribal Justice and the Department's grant-making divisions: the Office of Justice Programs, Community Oriented Policing Services and the Office on Violence Against Women. This redesigned website features new focus areas on criminal justice, communities and research, an inquiries section for quicker responses from staff, new forms to request technical assistance, the National Gang Center blog, and OJJDP Comprehensive Gang Model tools. Communities can utilize these resources in their gang prevention, intervention, and suppression efforts.
