Trends Among Young Adults Over Three Decades
The Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics' report, “Trends Among Young Adults Over Three Decades, 1974-2006” outlines patterns of change in postsecondary enrollment, labor force roles, family formation, and civic engagement as measured in young adults two years out of high school in 1972, 1980, 1992, and 2004.
Report: Births in the United States
This NCHS Data Brief presents several key demographic, maternal, and infant health indicators by race and Hispanic origin, using 2014 final birth data. The number of births in the United States increased slightly in 2014, with rates rising for non-Hispanic white and Asian or Pacific Islander women. There were historic lows for Hispanic women and American Indian or Alaska Native women. In 2014, teen childbearing fell to another historic low for each race and Hispanic origin group.

This report examines who public high school students view as their main influence when they are considering postsecondary education and careers. Results show students relied on family members as the main influence when thinking about postsecondary education, and students relied on themselves primarily when thinking about careers.

This fact sheet describes eligibility for health care coverage, including through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), for youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. It also provides information on subpopulations of youth who may be eligible, services covered, enrollment, and Medicaid and CHIP income eligibility levels for each state.
