About Safe Communities
The Safe Communities approach represents a new way community programs are established and managed. All partners participate as equals in developing solutions, sharing successes, assuming risks, and building a community structure and process to continue improvement of community life through the reduction of injuries and costs.
Community How-to Guides on Underage Drinking Prevention
This set of documents was developed by the National Association of Governors Highway Safety Representatives with financial assistance from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The guides focus on the following topics: Coalition Building, Needs Assessment and Strategic Planning, Evaluation, Prevention and Education, Underage Drinking Enforcement, Public Policy Advocacy, Media Relations, Self-Sufficiency, and Resources.
National Center for Safe Routes to School
The National Center for Safe Routes to School assists states and communities in enabling and encouraging children to safely walk and bicycle to school. The National Center serves as the information clearinghouse for the federal Safe Routes to School program. The organization also provides technical support and resources and coordinates online registration efforts for U.S. Walk to School Day and facilitates worldwide promotion and participation.
2014 National Prevention Strategy Annual Status Report
The National Prevention Council released its 2014 Annual Status Report. The report illustrates progress in implementing the National Prevention Strategy and highlights the collective impact of the federal government and its partners to improve the health and quality of life for individuals, families, and communities
America's Young Adults: Special Issue, 2014
This special report on young adults in the United States, ages 18-24, includes data from nationally representative, federally sponsored surveys. Data are summarized under five key themes: education; economic circumstances; family formation; civic, social, and personal behavior; and health and safety.
DisasterAssistance.gov
This site consolidates disaster assistance information in one place. The secure, user-friendly U.S. Government web portal allows users to apply for assistance online following a presidentially declared disaster and to find additional resources and information about recovering from a disaster.
Finding Federal Funds
The National Clearinghouse on Families and Youth recently profiled The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) Funding and Programs List, which outlines which federal departments have programs that help prevent and end homelessness and includes programs specifically designed to assist homeless youth.
National Prevention Council 2013 Annual Status Report

Recovery.gov is the U.S. Government's official website to provide easy access to data related to Recovery Act spending.
USASpending.gov
USAspending.gov provides federal funding information to the public, as collected from federal agencies, in an easy to use website. The data is largely from sources: the Federal Procurement Data System, which contains information about federal contracts; and the Federal Assistance Award Data System, which contains information about federal financial assistance such as grants, loans, insurance, and direct subsidies like Social Security.
USASpending Website Upgrades
USASpending.gov is upgrading. This federal government’s website informs the public about federal awards. Upgrades include new features that will provide information about federal grant funds invested at the state and county levels.
