In this video, astronaut Sultan Alneyadi tours the plant growing facilities astronauts use to conduct experiments on how plants grow in microgravity. This video explores the process of photosynthesis and how it impacts plant growth and food production in space. Educators can use this STEMonstration and the accompanying classroom connection (PDF, 10 pages) to help students explore photosynthesis and predict how changing the variables of light, water, or carbon dioxide in the photosynthesis process might impact the health of a plant.
